I guess all of us had childhood heroes: Superman, Luke Skywalker, Sherlock Holmes, Cinderella…
But who are your adult heroes? Do you have any at all?
I do. And I met mine yesterday.
Years ago when I was writing my final master thesis I bought a book from amazon “Neuromarketing – understanding the buy buttons in your customer’s brain”. I had no idea who the authors were. I couldn’t drop the book before I read it and I sucked up all the ideas. In the morning, I got up and said “this is what I want to do with my life”. That was 5 years ago. I still live up to my dream reading and blogging about that amazing field of new age science.
Out of the blue, few days ago, all of my friends started hitting me on Facebook with a link to neuromarketing seminar in Belgrade. I was a bit skeptical about it and then I saw the name: Christophe Morin is the lecturer! So I signed up for it and spent the best 5 hours of my life in the last few years.
To introduce you, Mr. Morin is the author of the book mentioned above. He is a real neuromarketing guru who is able to explain the complexity of neuromarketing methods and to show you how you can use it in everyday life and in business. He got my attention and kept it all the way. Even though I know all the concepts that his method consists of, I was amazed how simply and sharply he presented it. He is the Chief PAIN Officer in SalesBrain company. Yeah, go figure- he is in charge of pain. Why pain? SalesBrain method developed by Christophe and his partner actually focuses how you can cure the “pain” that your customers have when they buy the product or use the service that you sell. Genial approach. We all focus on advertising how our products are beautiful, how our company is smart, how our values are in accordance with ethical and human standards. Who cares. Really – who cares about your innovation strategy, about you having 10.000 employees in 45 countries. Nobody gives a … Customers want to know “What’s in it for me?”
What do I get buying your brand of milk? What do I get from you being my cell provider? How can you help me make my life better? How can you improve my quality of life? Do you save me time? Do you make me look good? Do you make me be more efficient? Do you make me less hungry? That’s how to solve of the “pain”.
Trully, that’s brilliant.
After more than 30 years of research using neurometrics (some of which I have discussed in my previous blogs like Liar Liar) he got the secret of what works and what doesn’t. And he put it in SalesBrain model which is complex, but yet easy to follow.
So, thank you Mr. Morin for being a true inspiration and my brain hero!
